Via I-85
Take I-85 North to I-985 North (about
16 miles north of I-285), which will be a left lane
exit towards Gainesville. Follow I-985 and Highway
365 (the highway designation after Gainesville)
for 42 miles.
Turn left onto Highway 384 towards
Helen. (Highway 384 will be the third traffic light
on Highway 365). Follow Highway 384 for ten and
one half miles to a Four-way Stop, at Highway 255.
(You will pass through two traffic lights, a four way stop,
and a third traffic light en route).
Turn right onto Highway 255 North,
and go four miles to the T-intersection at Highway
17.
Turn left, following Highways 17 and
255 North, for five miles until the Old Sautee Store.
(Please note that about halfway on this stretch
you will see Highway 255 Alt. Do not turn
onto it!!)
At the Old Sautee Store turn right,
following Highway 255 North, and go one and a half
miles to the Stovall House on the right (1526 Highway
255 N).
Via 400
Take 400 to the end, and at the light
go straight onto the two lane road, Highway 115
East( Long Branch Road ).
After about 5 miles you will come
to a traffic light where you turn right following
Highway 115 East and joining State Route ( SR )
52 East.
In about three miles when SR 52 goes
to the right, go straight through at the four way stop,
and remain on SR 115 going towards
Cleveland.
In Cleveland turn left at the first
traffic light at the square onto Highway 129 North
and go to the next light.
Turn right onto State Route (SR) 75
going towards Helen, and continue for 6.5 miles
to SR 17.
Turn right onto SR 17 south going
towards Clarkesville, and continue for about 2 miles
to SR 255.
Turn left (The Old Sautee Store is
on the corner) and go one and a half miles to The
Stovall House on the right.
All of the highways, except possibly
SR 255, are shown on Georgia road maps. It should
take you about one and a half hours from I-285.
